Drain Master DM-80 is an innovative solution addressing the persistent challenge of cleaning urban drains in congested areas. Traditional equipment like JCB excavators and Poclain machines face accessibility issues due to human settlements, narrow passages, and limited waste disposal options. Designed and developed by M/s Cleantec Infra Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, in collaboration with the Waste to Wealth Mission and South Delhi Municipal Corporation, DM-80 is a transportable, amphibious machine that efficiently handles mixed waste, including hard-to-dislodge construction debris, sewage, and trash.
Technology for tough terrains
- Machine Type: Self-propelled, amphibious excavator capable of operating in waterlogged and dry conditions.
- Waste Removal Capacity: Can extract 50-100 m³/day of mixed debris, including solid waste, silt, and construction material.
- Amphibious Design: Operates effectively in both waterlogged drains and dry terrain.
- 360° Rotating Boom: Enhances maneuverability for precise waste extraction.
- Retractable Track System: Provides stability in narrow or uneven spaces.

- To pilot Drain Master DM-80, the Waste to Wealth Mission collaborated with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The pilot focused on the Barapullah Drain in South Delhi, a heavily clogged waterway contributing to urban flooding, unhygienic conditions, and health hazards. DM-80 was deployed to address these challenges effectively:
- Cleared significant blockages and improved water flow.
- Enhanced community hygiene by removing stagnant waste.
- Demonstrated the feasibility of using advanced technologies in challenging urban environments.
