About the Fellowship

The "Green Fellowships under MASHAAL Program" on Environmental Sustainability is a transformative initiative by M3M Foundation and DRIIV, designed to foster technological innovation that addresses critical environmental challenges. This joint venture aims to empower the startup community by providing an environment where new ideas can be explored, validated, and scaled to achieve long-lasting, real-world impact. The Fellowship aligns closely with India's developmental goals, emphasizing support for innovative technologies that promote sustainability.

The Green Fellowship Program provides targeted funding and strategic support to startups, incubators, and entrepreneurs whose work contributes to climate action and environmental resilience. The fellowship ultimately seeks to harness India's entrepreneurial spirit to develop groundbreaking solutions that align with both environmental sustainability and national development ambitions, fostering a resilient, green innovation ecosystem in India.

The challenge is categorized into several areas :

Reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions : Technologies that mitigate climate change by reducing emissions from power plants, factories, and vehicles, sequestering gases like CO, CO₂, NOₓ, and SOₓ, and promoting the use of renewable energy to decrease reliance on carbon-intensive fossil fuels.

Energy Storage Solutions : Cutting-edge battery technologies that address environmental and economic challenges in energy storage. This includes integrating renewable and non-renewable energy into battery systems and developing sustainable energy storage solutions.

Green & Sustainable Mobility : Innovations in EV charging infrastructure, battery management systems, and improved battery chemistry. These technologies advance sustainable transportation, such as public transport systems like the **One Bus app** adopted by the Delhi government, and new applications for batteries in electric vehicles, robotics, drones, and space exploration.

Waste to Energy : Solutions that reduce landfill waste, methane emissions, and land use by converting municipal, industrial, and agricultural waste into biogas or biofuel, contributing to cleaner energy production and environmental conservation.

Air Pollution : Technologies focused on monitoring and mitigating PM2.5 and PM10 emissions, including innovations in industrial areas, carbon capture, source management, and construction and demolition waste management.

Water Security : Technologies for industrial and municipal wastewater treatment, affordable filtration systems for rural areas, and the use of recyclable materials like biochar for sustainable water management.

Sustainable Energy : Development of green hydrogen, solar energy, biofuels, and the recycling of plastic and agricultural residue to fuel, driving sustainable energy production.

Deep Tech (AI/ML) : Leveraging advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning for smart city solutions, such as waste management systems and intelligent transport networks, to foster sustainable urban development.
