OIL sludge treatment : Accelerating Green Innovation for the 'OIL industry'

DRIIV exemplifies the power of collaboration, enabling engagement between the Office of the PSA and MoEFCC to deploy innovative solutions from the cluster. The Cluster is thankful to Dr. (Mrs.) Parvinder Maini, Hon’ble Scientific Secretary, Office of PSA to the GoI, Dr. Vishal Choudhary, Scientist F, Office of PSA to the GoI, Ms. Leena Nandan, Secretary, MoEFCC, and Dr. Sujit Kumar Bajpayee, Member, CAQM for their unwavering support in this endeavor. We congratulate the Trinity team on their breakthrough in Phycoremediation technology, leading to the upcoming pilot installation in the Numaligarh Oil Refinery, OIL for oil sludge treatment. This nature-based solution harnesses the power of algae to degrade oil sludge within just four weeks, offering a sustainable, green, cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative. From forging impactful partnerships to successful lab testing and advancing an on-site pilot phase, DRIIV’s role underscores its commitment to address critical environmental challenges.

Next generation solarized EV charging infra powered by 2nd life EV batteries

DRIIV's ongoing pilot of EV charging infra powered by sunlight and repurposed batteries at IIT Delhi marks a significant step toward green energy transition. The Solarized EV infrastructure - where sunlight fuels our vehicles and repurposed batteries serve as efficient energy storage devices - is a great example of delivering on India's commitment to sustainable energy and creating a circular economy. The innovation is a giant leap towards green energy transition and is the result of a fruitful industry-academia collaboration, wherein, MG Motor India via its portfolio startup BATX Energies, co-created the system under the expert mentorship of Prof. B. K. Panigrahi from IIT Delhi. DRIIV was delighted to host Prof. Ajay K Sood, Hon'ble PSA to GoI for an inauguration ceremony of this 'first of its kind' pilot initiative, solar integrated EV charging infra powered by second life of batteries at IIT Delhi. By fostering collaboration to support impactful innovations DRIIV has been instrumental as a platform to facilitate pilot executions.

Pilot for Clean Air : a journey to de-smog the national capital

DRIIV executed Project SAMEER (Solutions for Air Pollution Mitigation through Engagement, Engineering, and Research), which was launched in January 2023 in collaboration with the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC). This groundbreaking initiative united government authorities, IIT Delhi researchers, tech startups, corporates, NGOs, and communities to address air pollution in Delhi-NCR through scalable and impactful pilots. SAMEER employs a 3-pronged approach: leveraging science and technology to monitor and mitigate hazardous PM 2.5 and PM 10 emissions, fostering awareness through community engagements, and mobilizing capital for technology adoption. With CSR backing from RSPL Welfare Foundation, which funded the deployment of roof-mounted air filters, SAMEER exemplifies how corporate involvement can drive environmental innovation and improve public well-being. Led by IIT Delhi validation, SAMEER highlights the effectiveness of scalable, eco-friendly solutions and the power of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in tackling urban challenges.

DRIIV, in collaboration with leading industry partners such as M3M Foundation, is driving transformative innovation in green energy and environmental sustainability. Through the Green Fellowship under the MASHAAL Fellowship program, launched with M3M Foundation, DRIIV is fostering a generation of trailblazers dedicated to addressing critical environmental challenges. This fellowship focuses on three transformative themes : Enabling green energy transition, Advancing environmental sustainability, and Ensuring water security. By aligning corporate VC and CSR efforts, this initiative serves as a launchpad for impactful technologies and scalable solutions that contribute to a sustainable future. Together, we are co-creating a cleaner, greener world.
